Job Title: Senior Compliance Officer Location: CityScape What you'll do: The Senior Compliance Officer serves as a key subject matter expert in ensuring lines of business maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Provides second-line independent oversight and guidance regarding business products, services, and processes through a compliance framework to ensure they are executed in accordance with regulatory requirements. In partnership with the business and key stakeholders, continuously drives a strong culture of compliance and demonstrates integrity and professional judgment in protecting the interests of Western Alliance Bank. The Senior Compliance Officer collaborates with first, second, and third line of defense departments to support adherence to regulatory commitments and the development of enhanced monitoring and controls to mitigate compliance risk. What we are looking for: Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on state and federal compliance laws and regulations to strengthen processes, procedures and controls for the lines of business. * Stay current with regulatory compliance regulations, industry best practices and guidance relating to banking, products, services, and business activities and provides guidance to effectively implement any changes to mitigate regulatory compliance risk. * Ability to identify and understand regulatory compliance risk associated with business activities; perform root cause analysis; provide recommendations that can influence business solutions, action plans and engage stakeholders and escalate as appropriate. * Partner with the lines of business to understand compliance impacts and provide guidance on changes to product offerings, changes in business practices, documents, disclosures. * Provides guidance on, and changes to, products, business practices, projects, documents, disclosures, and procedures to assist in identifying regulatory compliance risks and controls. * Assists with identifying and reviewing control deficiencies and provides recommendations to management action plans in alignment with the company's risk and compliance frameworks. * Track and maintain necessary documentation to ensure timely implementation of regulation, business, product, or other action plan by the line of business. * Maintain proactive and effective relationships with First Line of Defense stakeholders and other business partners in order to gain insight into compliance risks associated with line of business activities, objectives, practices, processes, and overall control environment. * Ability to Communicate and Implement Processes across multiple LOBS, in partnership with Compliance teammates and FLOD business partners * High ethical standards, strong critical thinking, detective, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree or 3+ years of compliance, risk, or auditing experience within the financial services industry is required. * Strong understanding of laws, applicable regulatory guidance, federal regulations such as B, C, E, DD, X, Z, UDAAP, UDAP, FCRA, E-Sign, NACHA, with the ability to promptly research and understand regulatory requirements. * Understanding of compliance risk management practices and methodologies, including risk assessment and control assessments. * Practical working knowledge of financial services compliance and operations including the related rules and regulations of the financial services industry. * Demonstrated skill in effectively communicating (verbal and written) risk assessment results to a diverse audience; ability to work with all levels of management with a focus on collaboration and relationship management. * Experience with data analysis tools and techniques including advanced concepts of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and/or other analytical software. * Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a team environment. * High ethical standards, strong critical thinking, detective, analytical, and problem-solving skills. * Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation is preferred. #LI-JM1 Benefits you'll love: We offer all the important things you'd want - like competitive salaries, an ownership stake in the company, medical and dental insurance, time off, a great 401k matching program, tuition assistance program, an employee volunteer program, and a wellness program.
