Our business lines are Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Middle Market Banking, and Treasury Management & Payment Solutions. Middle Market Banking o Services private and public companies with annual sales of $5 million to $2 billion o Specialized expertise across industry sectors The Middle Market Business Development Officer (BDO) creates sales opportunities for Middle Market Banking Office(s), routinely as the initial contact for a prospective customer. Increases Wells Fargo's relevancy to prospective customers and positions the relationship management team, leadership, and product partners for new business opportunities through consistent calling effort and delivery of value added ideas. Partners with the Market Executive to develop the office sales strategy and to lead marketing efforts in a defined territory. Assists with sales processes including prospect prioritization, initial contact and pursuit strategy, identification of fit and opportunity, due diligence and proposal development, and overall management of new customer acquisition. Works with the Middle Market Banking team to initiate and advance new business transactions (including cross-sell opportunities) by delivering the appropriate Wells Fargo products/services available to meet the financial needs of the prospect or customer. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements. Required Qualifications * 5+ years of commercial sales experience Desired Qualifications * Account relationship management experience * Risk management experience * Marketing experience * Experience negotiating interest rates, price, terms, and collateral requirements * Experience growing a business or portfolio of clients * Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of commercial or specialty group: lending, loan servicing, products, and credit practices * Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills * Effective organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills * Leadership skills including the ability to influence effectively in a matrix environment * Strong negotiation and leadership abilities * Knowledge and understanding of sales or business development; calling on decision makers and economic buyers * Ability to lead and operate collaboratively, execution focused, and results oriented * Strong middle market, commercial, or corporate credit analysis/structuring skills Other Desired Qualifications * Sales leadership experience Job Expectations * Ability to travel up to 50% of the time Salary Information The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
