The Network Engineer will be part of a team that is responsible for architecture, design, installation, and administration of all systems for engineering and day-to-day support of Production Technologies.
Build, test, and operate all systems required to support the productions that are part of Client s Live Action Motion Picture Production group.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert providing technical guidance and security best practices encompassing both digital and physical domains.
Provide technical solutions to meet the needs of productions based around the world with an emphasis on automation, simplicity, and secure network architecture.
Design/Deploy/Support multiple network and VPN platforms.
Support and manage all aspects of network engineering, including preparing, planning, designing, implementing, operating and optimizing and interaction, as well as interaction with third-party service providers.
Serve as the escalation point and work with helpdesk and desktop support teams to assist and support crew members at production and post production locations, always looking for ways to improve existing processes and better support them.
Lead evaluations of new technologies with an emphasis on simplicity, supportability, security, and integration with existing systems.
Evaluate/test processes and procedures while identifying areas for improvement to help develop standards as well as best practices documentation.
Create and follow documentation, to include Visio diagrams and wireless design.
Apply current knowledge of IT trends and systems processes to troubleshoot issues and look for opportunities for improvement.
Lifting 50 75 pounds unassisted and up to 150 200 pounds with assistance.
Ability to multitask and meet numerous business goals.
Valid US passport.
Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally .
Experience and qualification:
5+ years IT/Technical or film industry experience with large media corporations/studios.
Prior experience in the film/entertainment industry with knowledge of feature film production and postproduction industries, services, and workflows.
Experience working on set in a high-stress environment preferred.
Ability to work in a highly distributed matrixed environment.
Ability to adapt to new technologies and trends.
CCNP or equivalent.
Broad technical skills, to include, route, switch, wireless and security (Cisco, Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, Brocade, HPE, Ruckus Wireless).
Strong understanding of secure network principles of perimeter devices, servers, and workstations.
WAN connectivity (Point-to-Point, MPLS, VPN).
Digital transfer tools (e.g., Aspera, Signiant).
In-depth knowledge and extensive hands-on experience with a full range of layer 1-7 technologies and protocols (advanced layer2; redundancy protocols, advanced OSPF, BGP, and other routing protocols, security, content management, and other technologies).
Highly proficient in TCP/IP protocol suite, DNS and IP space management
Must have strong communication (written and verbal) and listening skills.
Ability to write and present effective materials, including technical diagrams and flowcharts.
Strong analytical, organizational and decision-making skills.
CCNA or equivalent.
