Meeks Lumber and Hardware, a division of USLBM, originated in Lockwood, Missouri, where Charles C. Meek opened the companys first lumberyard in 1919. In the early 1930s Charles C. Meek, Jr. relocated the business to its current headquarters in Springfield, Missouri. In the 1950s Charles C. Meek Jr. ventured to Northern California and opened the first Meek's yard on the West Coast which has since grown with the acquisition of many local lumber yards. We are currently looking for a Area Truss Manager for our Northern California locations. What you should know about working at Meek's Lumber and Hardware: * Were all about teamwork! How will you spend your days as an Area Truss Manager: * Oversee the routine operations activities and staff. * Assist Human Resources in the interviewing, selecting, hiring, and training of staff. * Schedule operations staff and allocate resources to optimize productivity and ensure the efficiency of operations. * Ensure facility and staff compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and standards, as well as company policies, procedures, and standards. * Supervise the proper filing of all compliance documentation. * Set operations goals and encourage staff to meet or exceed these goals. * Develop performance metrics for plant activities and staff. Evaluate actual plant and staff performance against these metrics. Implement corrective actions as necessary. * Prepare the operations budget and monitor plant expenses. * Establish production, productivity, and quality standards for the yard. * Generate operations policies and procedures to improve process workflow, operations efficiency, and customer satisfaction. * Manage relationships with key external partners, such as suppliers, vendors, and customers. * Respond to escalated customer issues or questions in a timely and efficient manner. Collaborate with other departments as necessary to appropriately address issues or questions. * Review and approve all operational invoices and ensure they are submitted for payment. * Collaborate with the Sales team to establish and monitor progress toward operational goals. * Analyze operations activities to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement. * Ability to travel between both locations (20% of the time). * Other reasonable directives, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Can you check these boxes? * A Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field is preferred. * Seven (7) years experience in a leadership or supervisory role is required. * Ten (10) years experience in an operations, production or manufacturing role is required. * Experience in planning, budgeting, and operations management is a must. * Experience in the component industry (Mitek) is highly preferred. * Thorough knowledge and understanding of industry best practices, risk assessment techniques, standards, and all applicable laws and regulations as they relate to operations management is required.
