Responsibilities The Sierra Vista Hospital location, a 171-bed psychiatric care facility located in south Sacramento, is a full-service mental health facility and a center of support for patients and their families. Since 1986, we have offered our clinical expertise to those suffering from emotional, behavioral and addiction problems. Current Opening: Full Time POSITION SUMMARY The LVN/LPT performs under the direction of a Registered Nurse in providing nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing basic understanding of psychiatric and personality disorders. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate from an accredited professional vocational school of nursing as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or vocational training as a Psychiatric Technician. Experience: Minimum one (1) year as a LVN/LPT in psychiatric nursing preferred. Licensure: Licensed to practice vocational nursing from the State Board of Nursing or Psychiatric Technicians. Valid driver's license preferred. Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification, and successful completion of the hospital's designated behavioral and physical management training program, including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint required prior to assisting in the procedures. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
