The Economics Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for a position in economic theory at the Associate or Full Professor (tenured) levels. We also welcome applications from candidates with significant empirical and experimental research as long as their work makes theoretical contributions or advances innovative methodologies to bring models to the data. The department has a fully equipped lab for running experiments.

The Economics Department has a Ph.D. program, a professional Master’s program, and several undergraduate programs. Applicants will be expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; advise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students; contribute to graduate education, the research environment of the department, and to university and professional service.

Successful candidates must be able to work with students, faculty, and staff from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds. Associate or Full Professor (tenure-track), academic year (9-month) basis.

Ph.D. or equivalent foreign degree in Economics or related field; demonstrated research experience in economic theory or applied economic theory; demonstrated record of teaching; and demonstrated record of service.

July 1, 2021, with the academic year beginning in September 2021 and contingent upon budgetary approval.
