Your work will have real-world impact, and you'll be supported in achieving your career goals.The Human Resources Generalist as part of the HR Field Team will be located in our BPD Santa Clara and CMD Sunnyvale sites and will partner with employees at those sites.How will you make an impact?As the HR partner to the Operations teams at both sites you will guide and support talent management, organizational development, performance management, career development, employee relations, and compensation planning and change leadership activities.When you're part of the team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll do important work, like helping customers in finding cures for cancer, protecting the environment or making sure our food is safe. Your work will have real-world impact, and you'll be supported in achieving your career goals.What will you do?* Collaborate closely with the HR team at the sites to execute site projects including recruiting, onboarding, employee performance calibration, career development, site restructures and offboarding* Collaborates with Center of Excellence (COE) process experts to execute and implement HR initiatives (i.e., roll out of annual programs, new programs, policies) within Laboratory Products across the US.* Provide HR support and coaching to site supervisors on policies, processes, people management, and career development.* Counsel and/or coach employees and managers regarding employee relations issues including performance management, facilitation of formal/informal investigations, and any resulting disciplinary actions.* Evaluate and advise client groups on the attraction, motivation, development and retention of their teams.* Ensure effective talent attraction and management including recruitment, assessment, and development.* Assist managers in assessing and identifying resources to meet employee training needs.* Participate in the broader Group, Divisional or Regional HR team to drive HR projects and initiatives.* Coach managers on effective use of HR systems (e.g. Workday) to leverage reporting and data insight capabilities.* Perform other duties as assigned.How will you get here?* Bachelor's degree in HR or related field is required.* Must have 3 or more years of experience in various aspects of human resources (staffing, compensation, employee relations and organizational development). Experience in a matrixed organization is a plus.* Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite is required.* Previous experience with HR information systems is required. Workday experience is a plus.* Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, work independently, multi-task, and follow up on projects and issues* Detail-oriented with strong follow-through* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interface with all levels of the organization* Strong analysis, problem solving, decision making, negotiating and influencing skills.* Available for travel up to 10-15%At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 75,000 extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
