The Role


As the Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you will be being responsible for technology and service acquisitions within the Technology group and work with a variety of groups to understand the procurement requirements and negotiation strategies for various projects. You will manage sourcing processes from end to end and act as a 'product consultant' to provide solutions for new products and services to meet business needs.

Solution Development and Management:

  • Establish and manage relationships with internal customers/stakeholders across the various business units.
  • Work with IT Executives through procurement lifecycle.
  • Develop and manage requests for information/proposals (RFI/RFP), quotes, and information including the collection of requirements, management of bidder communications, and the analyzing of bid responses
  • Responsible for negotiating the terms and conditions of all (NDAs/MSAs/EULAs) as well as IT-related purchases and renewals and consulting with sourcing manager and/or legal as needed.
  • Managing daily IT hardware/software request and issue/manage POs as needed. Responsibilities include reviewing for coding, pricing, and information accuracy and obtaining quotes, comparing, and negotiating pricing.
  • Follow each order to ensure all items are received.
  • Inform customers of PO issuance and any other details regarding orders.
  • Works directly with business stakeholders to understand project requirements and support IT strategy through vendor selection, identification of technology, and process improvements.
  • Responsible for actively managing the spend category in order to drive vendor consolidation and/or identify alternate vendors as needed to ensure the elimination of waste and/or redundancy.
  • Operational Support:

  • Manage savings goals and targets, quantify the baseline value of goods and services being sourced, the value of negotiations and SLA's, and the financial change in cost of ownership and service improvements.
  • Assist in developing statements of work (SOW).
  • Analyze SOWs and appropriate content to advise business unit representatives and technology representatives to the accuracy of the content.
  • Build relationships with key technology vendors and follow required sourcing policies and procedures.
  • Project and Task Management:

  • Create and maintain purchasing process and approval for all IT purchases.
  • Work with IT Executives on forecasting for budgeting OPEX and CAPEX.
  • Work with Project Management to plan and procure all IT needs to complete projects.
  • Monitor and control project procurement per the plan and communicate status to key stakeholders.
  • Communicate and coordinate procurement reporting and other technical development from geographically dispersed teams.

  • Experience in technology purchasing for services, infrastructure, applications, and consulting.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (preferred, not required), or 5 to 10 years of technology procurement experience.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and leading sourcing efforts is a must.
  • Ability to work with different internal companies, domestically and internationally.
  • Have the proven ability to establish, maintain and manage valuable and genuine internal/external business relationships.
  • Direct experience with enterprise vendors such as Oracle, Microsoft, Sales Force, Dell, Adobe, and HPe is a plus.
  • Be able to support IT initiatives by understanding all processes and stakeholders within the IT organization.
  • Actively collaborate with Enterprise Agreements, Software Assurance, and POs on new projects/initiatives as assigned
  • Have experience working with business units as a product consultant to help determine new and/or better products/services to meet their requirements
  • Actively identify, analyze, and recommend alternative solutions to successfully meet business priorities or streamline processes
