POSITION SUMMARY Performs direct and indirect technical tasks for patients before, during and after surgical interventions under the direction of licensed staff. Principal Accountabilities Community- Promotes a positive relationship between Sutter Health and the community. Finance - Utilizes resources to deliver quality care in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Growth - As a team member, participates in patient plan of care to achieve optimal health goals. People - Participates as a member of the health care team in a professional manner according to the Standards of Excellence/Conduct promoting a positive work environment. Quality - Assists in providing optimal care to patients during surgery experience in collaboration with surgical team and meeting facility standards to achieve best possible outcomes. Service - Cares for patient/family according to the Sutter Difference standards and activities ensuring the best patient/family experience. MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education/ Knowledge, including Licensure/ Certification/ Registration Certification as surgical technologist (CST) is preferred for all new hires; BLS-HCP (the recognized certification provider is determined at the affiliate level). Graduate of an accredited surgical technologists program or extensive experience as a surgical technologist, such as is usually obtained in approximately 10 years. Must have demonstrated knowledge of effective English written and communication and basic computer proficiency skills. Experience Acute care experience preferred. Skills Requires critical thinking skill, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a ever-changing environment and respond appropriately to complex situations.
