The Role
The Legal and Compliance department at Sunbit, a rapidly growing financial technology company, is looking for a smart, organized, and hard-working Compliance Analyst to join us. We will consider entry level to five years of experience and are willing to train the right candidate. This is a full-time position and a great opportunity for those interested in starting a career in regulatory compliance, financial technology, or consumer finance. For candidates with a proven track record in regulatory compliance, we will consider a Compliance Specialist or another position commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Team
The Legal and Compliance department is a busy team of attorneys and compliance analysts focused on helping the business offer our products in a compliant, transparent and responsible manner. The team touches every aspect of our company'™s operation, including but not limited to: developing new products and new product features, negotiating new deals with merchants and other partners, conducting due diligence of prospective merchants, obtaining and maintaining licenses, handling regulatory examinations, testing our products, reviewing consumer complaints and responding to disputes and much more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as an owner of your portion of compliance portfolio: ensuring timely completion of tasks, identifying any concerns requiring additional efforts
  • Handling various vendor due diligence and vendor management projects
  • Preparing compliance testing plans and conducting various compliance reviews and tests, including furnishing testing and credit policy testing
  • Supporting the company's state licensing efforts, including renewals and handling regular ongoing reporting obligations and filings
  • Investigating and processing credit reporting disputes and responses
  • Maintaining database of various legal documents
  • Reviewing, analyzing, and addressing consumer complaints, when necessary
  • Assisting with reviews of policies and procedures
  • Conducting basic legal research when required
  • Conducting call monitoring
  • Entering information into various databases and filing legal documents
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior (we really mean 'œimpeccable') organization skills and ability to multi-task
  • Detail-oriented (you will have to focus on nuances, minor details) and self-motivated with the ability to proactively identify issues
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Ability to enjoy a busy schedule and be open to new assignments and tasks
  • Natural curiosity and enthusiasm
  • Advantages

  • Interest and/or experience in consumer finance, banking, or FinTech
  • Prior licensing and/or regulatory audit experience
  • Paralegal training
