STV is hiring a Senior Project/Design Manager to lead their Highways Team with experience working with Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority (Metro), Caltrans, clients needing Rail Grade Separations, and major contractors. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of winning and delivering conventional and alternative delivery projects and exceeding expectations relative to budget, quality, and schedule requirements. This will include leading design teams made up of internal staff, non-DBE and DBE subs, delivering commercially based design solutions and managing the various deliverables; effectively scoping and packaging the work plus managing and controlling the design process from preliminary solutions through the lifecycle of the design process. Responsibilities: * Lead the Highway Team pursuits. Be the Key Resume for the successful proposal, interview and award of work as the prime, partner or key sub, and have a working relationship with potential DBE team members. * Lead and manage design projects from inception to construction completion on Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build and Alternate Project Delivery projects. * Ensure projects meet or exceed forecasted profit margins. * Work with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules and clear project delivery plans. * Perform regular coordination/design reviews with the design and commercial teams to actively manage change and ensure timely submission of Early Warnings and Change Orders. * Proactively drive safety and ensure that health, safety, environment and security requirements are properly considered and included in all stages of the design process. * Identify and manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies to eliminate risk. * Manage the responses to design RFIs (Request for Information). * Carry out periodic and end of phase/project reviews and audits with the contractors and design teams to ensure that lessons learned are captured, shared, and used to inform/improve future project delivery. Job Requirements: * Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in California * Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. * Minimum of fifteen (15) years' experience leading Highway designs, including a minimum of 10 years as the Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager. * Experience in adding Highway capacity and service improvements along with adding Express Lanes to existing Highways. * Experience in coordinating with Highway Bridges. * Proven track record of delivering civil engineering projects ranging from $250 million to $1 billion plus * Strong technical based leadership skills with proficient understanding of multi engineering disciplines and technical design standards. * Strong project management skills. Certification desired. * Broad knowledge of construction, design, and management of Highway engineering projects. * Understanding of environmental requirements of horizontal infrastructure construction. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to form effective relationships.
