Scheduler - Surgical Services

We are looking for a Scheduler - National Union of Health Workers with the Surgical Services Department at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
Location: Santa Rosa, CA
Work Schedule: Full time - 80 Biweekly hours
Shift: 8 Hour - Day shift
The Scheduler is accountable for scheduling various types of patient appointments from simple office visits to very complex surgical and medical procedures. This may include coordinating schedules with multiple providers, specialized equipment, and other specialized resources. Complexity of this position is evidenced by the use of simple and complex medical terminology and enterprise scheduling protocols. The scheduling specialist; displays professional interpersonal skills and presence when communicating with physicians, staff and the public; as the front-line customer service representative, upholds and exhibits the core values in all communication. It is essential that this information be documented timely and accurately.
* Able to communicate effectively - written and oral.
* Knowledge of medical terminology.
* Basic knowledge of Information Systems.
* Effective skill in communication, problem solving, interpersonal relationships and prioritization.
* Able to give and receive constructive feedback.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
License / Certification:
* High School graduate or certified equivalent.
* BLS required for patient care areas only.
Experience: 1 year clerical or secretary in medical setting and understanding of basic Medical Terminology
