About this position: The Finance & Strategy (F&S) team serves as a trusted advisor to the business to help advise and guide decision making through business partner support and innovative and informative analyses. We are looking for forward-thinking, results oriented individuals that will succeed in a fast-paced environment and thrive in building and improving processes that will allow the company to scale with growth. The Long Range Plan (LRP) is a 5 year, forward looking strategic and operational view of the company. The LRP is a mechanism to align the company on our strategic vision. We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to bring their experience and aptitude for problem solving to the Corporate LRP process. You will play an integral part in leading all aspects of long term planning for the company. You will partner cross functionally to build an informed and robust 5 year strategic and financial plan. This is a high visibility, high impact role where you will interact with senior leadership on a regular basis. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Long Range Planning on the Finance & Strategy Corporate team. Responsibilities: * Lead the company-wide long term planning process * Run a successful execution of a quarterly SOX control tied to the LRP * Partner with the Short Team Planning F&S team to integrate long and short term planning processes * Build and maintain cross functional relationships with key business partners including but not limited to Product Strategy, Sales Strategy, Tax, Treasury, Emerging Business Finance, and the broader F&S team * Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for long range financial planning * Drive executive and finance business partner alignment on the company's long term strategic vision, using the LRP to advise decision making and resource allocation * Develop a robust understanding of Salesforce's Product portfolio, Sales functions, and overall business model * Build, maintain and own integrated, driver based LRP financial models, including: Exec LRP Model, Simple LRP Model, Expense by Type Model, etc. * Ensure the completeness and accuracy of the LRP forecasts * Co-own the quarterly update of the LRP forecast from model refresh to Executive read-out * Partner with cross functional teams to ensure M&A is appropriately integrated into the LRP model * Analyze the impact of current business performance on long term financial performance and highlight critical business insights to leadership * Lead improvement in execution to drive long term scale including model re-design and build in an alternative planning tool * Be a champion for change for LRP processes and broader F&S initiatives * Execute on bi-annual LRP Executive alignment reviews * Continue to educate leadership on our profitability framework and the subscription economics model * Create a narrative around the company's strategy that ties together financial and operational objectives * Help enable the process to resolve resource allocation to support the five-year top line forecast * Partner with Sales and Product Strategy teams to build a detailed five-year Bookings forecast incorporating new products and geographies * Be responsible for the creation of the quarterly Finance update to the Board of Directors * Partner with the Sr Manager, SVP, EVP and CFO to build the Board Book, highlighting current quarter results, investor reaction to earnings, and special topics that are top of mind * Work closely with Treasury and IR to build out Cash Flow metrics into the LRP * Partner with Metrics team, Finance Business Partners, and other internal partners to solve sophisticated data mapping issues * Understand and plug into broader corporate areas related to the LRP such as annual planning, quarterly outlooks and month end processes * Successfully hand-off the LRP to short term planning and Revenue teams Required Skills/Experience: * Bachelors Degree in Finance, Economics or related relevant areas * 5+ years of work experience in an analytically demanding FP&A, Finance & Strategy, Accounting, Operations, Business Consulting or Sales Strategy role * Excellent financial analysis, forecasting, modeling and planning skills with extensive hands-on experience with large data sets * Advanced Excel modeling skills for developing sophisticated financial analyses and decision support models * Track record of successful and quantifiable process improvement projects * Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) with an ability to explain complex issues in an understandable way * Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment * Experience with the following systems - Hyperion, Oracle, Business Objects, or other BI tools. * Strong understanding of US GAAP * Experience and understanding of the SaaS business model * Thrives in an environment of collaboration/teamwork but is also a self-starter, requiring limited guidance * Ability to establish and lead business partnering, stakeholder relationships * Strong desire to improve processes and drive efficiencies Accommodations If you require assistance due to a disability applying for open positions please submit a request via this Accommodations Request Form.
