The variety of projects, locations and engagement models gives you the ability to define your career path based on your expertise, passion, desire for travel and life stage.PURPOSE OF THE ROLEAs a Staff Accounting Consultant, you will support the month-end close process, perform financial reporting and audit compliance, and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy.ATTRIBUTES OF CONSULTANTS WITH RGP* You are naturally inquisitive and have an insatiable appetite for learning.* You value making an impact on those around you and in the greater community while taking pride in your work and delivering great results.* You are optimistic, respectful and proactively cultivate relationships with clients and colleagues.* You identify with RGP's values - loyalty, integrity, focus, enthusiasm, accountability and talent.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE* Support month-end close process, including maintaining the general ledger and sub-ledgers, reviewing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations and analyzing account variances* Communicate and follow up with business partners to ensure that open/outstanding issues are resolved in a timely manner* Ensure appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with US GAAP* Support in the preparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly reports, as well as the review of policies and procedures to ensure SOX compliance, etc.* Help identify and implement process improvements and system enhancementsDESIRED EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field required* Master's Degree preferred* CPA, CMA, CIA or CFE preferred* 0-5+ years of related experience* Public accounting, related consulting or industry experience preferred* Knowledge of US GAAP* Experience with large ERP systems and strong MS Office technical skills, specifically with MS Excel* Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills, with a strong orientation to client service, time management, and project deliveryEqual Opportunity EmployerRGP is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
