Position Summary

The nurse manager will be is responsible formanaging the daily operations and functions on various units (under tower 2) depending of theneed. The patient s continuum of care from admission to discharge is followedto ensure that all patient care needs are being met. The position assists indeveloping objectives, and policies and procedures which support the mission,vision and values of the hospital. The nurse manager serves in a leadershiprole and works collaboratively with the departmental staff, the medical staff,and all other hospital departments. The position is responsible for maintainingcustomer relations and satisfaction, compliance with accreditation and licensurerequirements, the professional practice standards, and the unit personnel.

Qualifications

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONREQUIREMENTS:

Minimum:Current CA RN License, BLS

Preferred:ACLS, TNCC, PALS, NRP

EXPERIENCEREQUIREMENTS:

Minimum:At least 5 years experience in an acute caresetting.

Preferred:1 to 2 years managerial or supervisoryexperience.

EDUCATIONREQUIREMENTS:

Minimum:Graduate of accredited Nursing program. BSN or related degree.

Preferred:MSN or related degree

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Excellent verbal and written communicationskills, problem solving, critical thinking ability, knowledge of NursingPractice Act, and Emergency/Trauma/Critical Care.

Minimum:Effective front line supervision, wordprocessing/spreadsheet, time management, clinical proficiency, Title XXII,Quality Improvement

Preferred:Completion of formal management training
