Job Description: Rakuten Rewards is seeking a contracts administrator to join our legal team. The position will onboard remotely and will eventually be in San Mateo, CA. The position will report to the Associate General Counsel and will work with everyone on the legal team. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to different areas of law in an in-house environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Learn to review and revise commercial and privacy agreements (consulting agreements, paid marketing insertion orders, data processing agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and procurement contracts) under the supervision of our transactional attorneys * Administer sweepstakes by drafting and updating terms and ensuring state and federal filing requirements are met * Coordinate the processing and execution of agreements through our contract administration platform * Assist with due diligence and internal departmental projects for transactional/M&A * Assist with the creation of legal and compliance reporting * Provide support to the entire legal team as needed MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * A self-starter who can navigate a job that will initially onboard remotely * Quick learner who can thrive in a fast-paced environment * Highly organized and a meticulous attention to detail * Excellent business writing and oral communication skills * Positive demeanor and ability to perform work with minimal supervision * Ability to work on multiple projects each day and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment (not easily overwhelmed) * Professional demeanor (we are a tech company, but we are still the legal department) * Significant experience using Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat * Technologically savvy and able to pick up new technologies easily * Desire to grow and advance within the company * Preferred, not mandatory * Experience working in a legal environment (e.g., legal intern, paralegal, contract administrator etc.) * Familiarity with the following technology: Box, Simple Legal, Confluence, JIRA, Legisway, DocuSign, Slack QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS * A degree (bachelors or associates, everyone's circumstances are different) * 1-4 years of relevant work experience in an office or customer service environment (summer internships count)
