In this role as a Systems Engineer you will support government-sponsored research, development, requirements generation, minor software development and test across a wide variety of technologies, including adaptation and extension of commercial systems to novel applications and environments, as well as internal development efforts. You will work on efforts leveraging a vast variety of corporate technology with a fast and dynamic pace as the focus area can vary from project to project. You will be responsible for working closely with other engineering disciplines to research, analyze/design, develop and innovate novel ideas, characterize/test and document. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential. Candidate must be willing to travel on occasion and be able to work well with others in a technical environment. The position is in San Diego CA. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. *Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a U.S. Government security clearance.*Minimum Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. - 2+ years Systems Engineering or related work experience.Preferred Qualifications* Secret/Top Secret clearance with a current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) - 5+ years Systems Engineering with experience in wireless cellular systems (especially 4G/5G), including devices and applications for voice and data, network infrastructure - Ability to understand a variety of system architectures with strong analytical skills - Familiarity with 3GPP standards, emphasis on REL 15 onwards - Python, Matlab, Linux shell scripting and system test verification experience - RF/spectrum management understanding the layers (PHY and up) - Mobile platform operating systems including Linux, Android, and iOSApplicants: If you are an individual with a disability and need an accommodation during the application/hiring process, please call Qualcomm's toll-free number found here for assistance.
