Overview The Developer/Analyst of BI Systems is responsible for gathering requirements for new and existing BI reporting and data feeds, light development, working with both business and technical partners. The primary responsibility is to manage our customers within the Pacsun business to maximize the value of the BI deliverables. Additional tasks will require light development in SQL/BI Tools and handling internal service requests, user testing, and limit task organization. The ideal candidate is innovative, analytical, and passionate about owning the business experience in a multifaceted fashion retail business. Responsibilities Core Accountabilities: * Serve as the BI Systems liaison to Pacsun's business reporting community to evaluate, prioritize, and test all data and reporting touch points. * Provide expertise on user experience in a BI setting, communicating across business and cross-functional projects to ensure BI deliverables are understood. * Manage our internal service tracking for the BI team, working with management on communication, priorities, and awareness. * Provide light develop and QA and UAT testing support, when needed on planned events and individual project efforts. * Work closely with all BI team members and our business contacts to optimize our service and support across the diverse reporting environments. * Collaborate across business functions to drive issues to resolution. Leadership Expectations: * Organize and manage tasks, in business priority, for the BI team, communicating efficiently to the team and direct management * Develop and nurture strong cross functional partnerships; driving business results and inspiring a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability. * Ably operate in a multitasking environment with shifting priorities. Other Desirable Skills/Experience: * Must have a sound understanding of the lifecycle development process in a BI or Data Warehouse environment. * 3+ years' of SQL development on a relational database platform. * Experience in a BI or Data Warehouse development team with the retail business market. * Preferred background in task management and/or QA activities for supporting teams. * Ability to handle coordination of multiple projects concurrently while maintaining visibility and coordination. * Outstanding analytical skills. * Can-do attitude and a motivated team member; able to be a constant positive force in the company. Qualifications Education/Experience Required: * A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent * It's a plus to have certificates in BI tools or processes (MicroStrategy, SQL, etc.) Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that are required by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. * While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; as well as reach with hands and arms. * The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. * Ability to work in open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting. * Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions. * Required to travel in elevator or stairwells to attend meetings and engage with associates on multiple floors throughout building. * Hotel, Airplane, and Car Travel may be required. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. As an International Retailer, occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume. This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
