This position reports to the Palmdale CoE Director of Facilities.Essential Functions:Oversees and provide direction to the team in the completion of projects and construction facility activities.Supervises planning, designs and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of buildings, structures, and other facilities maintenance activities.Gathers and reviews data from end-user/customers or Program facilities requirements, budgets, schedule requirements and specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility.Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings.Review and authorize Change Order activity and other contract activities relating to construction and facilities modification and rearrangements.Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.Inspection of construction installations progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, company standardsSupervises employees or outside contractors who construct buildings and infrastructureWorks closely with and/or provides advice and counsel to company and/or vendor representatives coordinating major constructionResponsible for all actions assigned to the organizational unit, serves as Facilities liaison to functions, conducts briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representativesActs as an advisor to subordinate supervisors and staff members to meet schedules or resolve technical and operational problems and exerts influence in the development of overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment and must have the ability to multi-task and manage a number of competing priorities at the same time. The selected candidate must also enjoy working in an environment with high expectations, significantly diverse tasks, and a collaborative/team setting across all levels of employees and all levels of management.Basic Qualifications:* Bachelor's Degree* 7 years of facilities related experience* 5 years of leadership experience* Excellent interpersonal communication skills* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)* Familiarity with accounting and budget practices* Familiarity with Air Force requirements (UFC's, FARS & DFAR)* Current and active DoD Secret clearancePreferred Qualifications:* Master's Degree* 10 years of leadership experience* Familiarity with establishing and tracking project metrics* Experience using Maximo and/or other maintenance management system* Current and active DoD Top Secret clearanceNorthrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
