Through our family of companies, we provide:* physician services spanning the continuum of patient care* revenue cycle management solutions* performance improvement consultingWe invite you to grow with us and help shape the future of health care.The Medical Transcriptionist transcribes correspondence and reports as dictated by the healthcare providers, genetic counselors and Practice Management as well as provides other clerical support.Responsibilities* Types medical dictation of discharge summaries, operative reports, referral letters, history and physical, special procedures, follow up clinic notes and other reports from dictating equipment or written draft.* Prepares typed departmental reports, presentations, information sheets, and other written materials as directed.* Ensures 24 hour turn around time for all transcriptions.* Maintains list of patient reports and records needed for forwarding to referring physicians' correspondence.* Mails, e-mails, picks up and delivers dictated reports as indicated.* Maintains appropriate files of all correspondence, records, and reports transcribed.* Maintains updated files of referring physicians to include addresses, telephone numbers, fax numbers, misc. numbers and information.* Maintains patient confidentiality.* Prepares and maintains a variety of confidential records and files.* Maintains proper operation of transcription equipment.* Performs various clerical and reception tasks, as assigned.* Communicates effectively and courteously with and demonstrates a caring attitude toward patients and their families.* Treats all patients and their families with dignity and respect.* Acts in a non-directive, non-judgmental manner, recognizing an individual's religious, ethical, and moral opinions and beliefs.* Brings new ideas, positive attitude and lots of energy.* Maintains strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and Company policy.* Presents a positive, professional appearance and convey a professional demeanor in the performance of assigned duties.* Responsible for following all facility, organization and department precautions and procedures in the performance of all job duties to ensure a safe work environment for self and others.* Report all results of testing and laboratory studies to physicians and document all findings in a patient's medical record.* Maintain awareness of physician's daily schedule to identify potential conflicts.* Completes compliance requirements as needed.* Performs other duties as assigned or requested.QualificationsEducation Level: High school diploma or GED.Experience Years: One to three years related experience and/or training.Experience Industry: HealthcareEquivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
