LinQuest is seeking a System Safety Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA.The GPS SE&I Team provides specialized engineering, analysis, operations support and subject matter expertise to the GPS Mission. The team also provides systems engineering and analysis services to include system development, enterprise and system architecture, acquisition, testing, operations and sustainment support for existing and new capabilities. Finally, the team provides Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH) support to the GPS System Safety Government Team and other GPS customers.Responsibilities:* Support the GPS System Safety Government Team by evaluating ESOH risks identified by the government, contractors, or other GPS customers, preparation of ESOH documents and providing system safety support for Space Flight Worthiness certification* Document, perform, and execute changes to Government System Safety Documents* Review and participate in government evaluations of contractor documentation to safety assessments, as well as, advise the GPS System Safety Government Team* Prepare documents including but not limited to: Programmatic Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Evaluation (PESHE) and Space Debris Assessment Report/End of Life Plan for GPS space vehicles* Prepare and support the System Safety elements of the GPS space vehicle Space Flight Worthiness certification* Collaborating with prime contractors, other support contractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Air ForceRequired Skills:* Strong interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and interrelating with diverse personnel and dynamic teams* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills* Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as organizational skill* Extremely motivated individual who is a self-starter and works well in a team environmentRequired Experience:* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Math, Science or a technical related field or equivalent engineering experience (4 years) within the aerospace industry* 2-4 years of overall experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 6+ years without a a Bachelor's Degree* US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance are required for the positionPreferred Experience:* GPS experience is highly desired* Secret Clearance* Experience and familiarity experience working with or for the government on a government Space Systems program* Experience working specifically on a Systems Engineering and Integration contract* Experience and familiarity with System Safety Engineering practices, techniques, and procedures* Experience and familiarity working with System Safety military standards and regulationsWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer, we are committed to providing a work environment that values and respects each Team Member as an individual and important member of our culturally diverse organization.
