WHAT YOU'LL DO: * People Management: You will manage a team of 8 QA engineers and own all aspects of people management such as anticipating headcount needs; driving the hiring process and making hiring decisions; making decisions on team structure and onboarding; managing QA engineers' performance and career development. * Release Management: You will partner with Product Management (PM) and Engineering to plan and ship releases. This includes influencing sprints and roadmaps from a QA standpoint, planning and monitoring sprints and ensuring that all planned releases are shipped on time. * Automation Roadmap Management: You will wear a PM hat and drive roadmaps for functionality, performance, and data quality automation; communicating the vision, strategy, and progress to all stakeholders on a quarterly and monthly basis. * Quality Champion: You will be the 'quality czar' within the organization and champion best practices and standards for quality across the board and ensure that everything we ship meets a high bar and we don't cut corners. WHAT YOU'LL BRING * 5+ years of progressive experience as a QA engineer and lead working on web based products; and 2+ years of experience managing QA teams. * Proven people management experience building and organizing QA teams, hiring good QA engineers, and keeping them focused, productive, happy, and growing. You also know how to partner effectively with engineering and product leaders to get things done. * Previous experience in Quality and Release Management. You have strong technical design skills, and the ability to iterate on release processes that balance quality and speed, leveraging the right amount of manual QA and automation. You know what works and what doesn't and how to course correct and improve processes to achieve smooth sailing. * In-depth knowledge of automation management. You know how to design and evolve automation frameworks that provide the right level of confidence and efficiency in a nimble manner. You've designed automation frameworks before and can provide technical direction to the team. * Excellent organizational and communication skills. You have developed systems to keep both yourself and the team organized and to communicate the what, why, and when effectively to all stakeholders across the board. You understand what it takes to succeed in a 'remote first' world.
