Job Summary Reporting to the Information Security Officer (ISO), the Security Analyst II will participate in information security policy development and maintenance, including: maintaining updates to security policy education, training, and awareness activities. In partnership with the ISO and the Security Analyst III will ensure compliance with L.A. Care Information Security policy and applicable laws. Additional duties will include coordinating investigations and reporting security incidents. The Security Analyst II will monitor the organization's computer networks for security issues, support in the installation of security software, and report any security issues or breaches found. Duties Participates in keeping the organization's information security policies and procedures up-to-date and enforcing security policies. Support in facilitating organization-wide security education, training, and awareness activities to remain current. Assist the IT Systems Support Teams, in identifying and correcting flaws in the organization's security programs through network penetration tests, application vulnerability assessment scans, and risk assessment reviews. Monitor and recommend on information security issues to ensure the internal security controls for the organization are appropriate and operating as intended. Assist in business continuity planning by recommending specific measures that can improve the organization's overall security. Provide support in investigations and assist in generating reports on security incidents as directed by the Information Security Officer and Leading investigator. Remain well informed and familiar with the latest IT trends and security enhancements; support in research as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Required Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Related Field In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered. Education Preferred Experience Required: Minimum 5 years of experience in computing and information security, including experience with Internet technology security issues. Experience should include security policy development, security education, network penetration testing, application vulnerability assessments, risk analysis and compliance testing. Experience with security tools such IPS, SIEM, Web Secure Gateway, Email Gateway, DLP, Firewalls (network and application), Malware Protection, MDM, Forensic Tools, etc. Preferred: Experience in Healthcare security environment is a plus. Skills Required: Understanding of information security concepts such as Security Architecture and Design, Information Security Standards and Technical Security Risk Assessment. Performs procedures necessary to ensure the security of information systems assets and to protect them from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction in accordance with company policies and external requirements such as NIST, HIPAA, DHCS, OIG and other relevant regulatory requirements. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. Detail-oriented.
