Kforce has a client in search of a Senior IT Portfolio Analyst in San Diego, CA. Summary: The Senior IT Portfolio Analyst will be supporting the Information Technology Portfolios and Programs. The candidate will be responsible for creating and collecting portfolio information that will be useful in strategy and planning as well as creating transparency of operational performance to drive continuous improvement within the organization. In this role you will work closely with Resource Managers, Project Managers, Business Alignment Managers, and Senior Leadership to focus on leading portfolio review and analysis, governance, process improvement, forecasting trends, defining and maintaining key performance indicators, and providing analytical support. Key Tasks:
  • Strategy & Planning - Provide comprehensive analysis of portfolio data and make recommendations; Develop, evaluate and utilize the most appropriate analytical and visualization methodologies to present project and portfolio data in a concise and effective manner to drive decision making, scenario planning, process health indicators (PHI), and key performance indicators (KPI)
  • Project Portfolio Management - Reviews project pipeline, monitors process health indicators, tracks planned expenditures and burndown, assess variances and monitors actual trends; Collect and create reporting on project portfolio benefits in accordance with the company's benefits realization management processes
  • Resource Management - Maintain resource management data integrity and quality; Create resource forecasts for the rolling 3-6 month period; Create and present monthly resource utilization data on based on input from project managers and resource managers
  • Financial Management - Assess project forecast data, create financial projections, track capitalized and non-capitalized expenditures by analyzing and translating it into trend summaries, predictive forecasts and options analysis to facilitate tradeoff decisions

Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics
  • Typically, 5 - 10 years of demonstrated and direct work experience as a financial, business, or operations analyst, or equivalent role
  • Skilled in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Zoom, and SharePoint
  • Strong business acumen and presentation skills; Proven experience presenting to Executive leadership
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with budgeting, forecasting, options analysis, project planning processes and systems
  • Strong ability to drive for results and build effective partnerships
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw well-supported conclusions
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or Advanced in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics
  • Proficiency in Power BI and other reporting tools
  • Experience in working with Azure DevOps, ServiceNow or other project portfolio management tools
