Job Summary:

The Investor Relations & Corporate Development Manager position is responsible for creating and presenting a consistent investment message to the investment community on behalf of Inogen, monitoring and reporting on the company’s performance and evaluating and executing acquisitions, joint ventures, and market expansion opportunities.

Responsibilities (Specific tasks, duties, essential functions of the job)

  • As a key member of the management team, is responsible for crafting and/or reviewing all public messages including all filings, press releases, and presentations.
  • Develops and maintains a company investor relations plan.
  • Performs a comprehensive competitive company analysis, including financial metrics.
  • Performs targeting initiatives to achieve appropriate shareholder mix.
  • Monitors operational changes through ongoing contacts with company management and develops investor relations messages based on these changes.
  • Provides regulation FD training to all company spokespersons.
  • Creates presentations, press releases, and other communication materials for earnings releases, industry events, and presentations to analysts, brokers, and investors.
  • Involved in the production of all annual reports, SEC filings, and proxy statements, in conjunction with the SEC reporting team.
  • Manages the investor relations portion of the company website.
  • Monitors analyst reports, creates consensus models, and summarizes them for senior management.
  • Serves as a key point of contact for the investment community.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with stock exchange representatives.
  • Organizes and may participate in conferences, road shows, earnings conference calls, and investor meetings.
  • Provides feedback to management regarding the investment community’s perception of how the company is being managed and their view of its financial results.
  • Collaborates across the company to help assess and prioritize M&A and market expansion transactions to best align with corporate strategy and growth objectives.
  • Participates in and leads certain aspects of transaction execution including project management, due diligence and valuation.Works closely with business teams, internal functional experts (eg. Legal, accounting, tax, etc), and outside advisors to support deal execution.
  • Takes primary responsibility for development of financial projections for merger and acquisition opportunities.
  • Performs detailed financial analysis; develops comprehensive pro form financial models, valuation analysis, and synergy models in support of potential transactions.
  • Responsible for creating and delivering high quality presentation materials and reports to business unit leaders and senior corporate executives.
  • Assists and supports post-acquisition integration by ensuring that cross-functional teams are all executing on their respective M&A integration plans.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Broad financial acumen including a strong foundation in accounting and corporate finance principles including a comprehensive understanding of valuation methodologies, preferably with a background in accounting / finance / investment banking / sell-side analyst or 3+ years’ experience in an investor relations and/or corporate development role.
  • Experience at an investment bank a plus.
  • Strong quantitative and analytic skills including advanced modeling skills, with the ability to work with others in complex tasks and review work products.Ability to synthesize data into meaningful conclusions and recommendations.

  • Qualifications (Experience and Education)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field of study, required.
  • 7 years’ experience in Accounting, Financial, Investor Relations, and/or external communications role for a publicly traded company or investment bank, required.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing-medical device company, preferred.
  • 2 year’s supervisory/management experience, with a minimum of three direct reports.
  • Advanced knowledge/proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • A combination of training, education and experience that is equivalent to the qualifications listed above and that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
