As a part of Battery Technology and Innovation team, you will focus on developing advanced technologies involving battery management architectures and control algorithms to improve the utility of batteries.Responsibilities:* You will define the roadmap for future battery management architectures and algorithms to align with the battery technology roadmap* Work with battery functional safety engineer to develop requirements/specifications for battery management system and cascade down to components of the embedded systems.* Evaluate the current battery management system to address limitations of the architecture and algorithms* Improve and develop SOC/SOH prediction technologies, battery control algorithms, and early detection/warning technologies* Interface with BMS component suppliers to support new technology development* Work with battery cell technology engineer to develop strategies for the optimization of available energy, charging rate, power deliverable, etc.* Collaborate with the vehicle management system team to derive usage strategies in order to optimize the available energy of battery pack* Collaborate with battery integration team to develop BMS end-of-line verification and validation processes for both hardware and software* Collaborate with the system architecture and safety teams to develop BMS HIL test processesQualifications:* 3+ years of industry experience in battery algorithm development and battery management system level architecture development* The ability to demonstrate knowledge of BMS core technologies and its interactions/dependencies between algorithms, battery cell chemistry, embedded processor, control systems, custom IC requirement specifications, HW, SW, FW, and telemetry* Experience with the embedded system design, FW architecture synthesis, SW/FW life cycle management, simulation/programming languages, and tools* Professional knowledge of Lithium based batteries* Experienced working in aviation is a plus* Experienced working with regulatory agencies is a plus
