The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst will provide support in monthly/quarterly financial consolidation process and reporting to HM by coordinating and overseeing North American (NA) Honda subsidiaries in various financial reporting aspects (accounting standards, intercompany transactions, GL/BOFC reporting, consolidated journal entries) Responsibilities: * NA consolidation review/oversight, this position will also support these activities: (a) setting and/or providing accounting/financial reporting directions and policies to NA subsidiaries, (b) technical accounting research incl. recommending accounting positions to be undertaken by Honda for new business arrangements, as well as existing, complex transactions * Supervises the monthly/quarterly financial reporting close for AHSCC (i.e. smaller insurance entity) * Review and oversee the financial reporting packages of certain subsidiaries, and in the process of doing so - perform reporting analytics, understand intercompany reporting disparities, and lead the subsidiaries with proper accounting treatment/obtain NA reporting alignment * Direct involvement in technical accounting research incl. documenting (i.e. via position papers) and recommending accounting positions to be undertaken by Honda for new business arrangements, as well as existing, complex transactions * Manage communication and coordination efforts with HM consolidation team, KPMG, and NA subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with financial reporting and SOX requirements, including audit activities * Bachelor's degree with Major in Accounting * 8 years accounting experience - public accounting and private industry experience combined, of which 4 years spent in public accounting * Technical accounting experience with consolidation experience (preferred) * Strong knowledge of automotive industry accounting (or consumer markets industry) (preferred) * Ability to research, interpret, document, communicate and apply accounting guidance under IFRS and US GAAP * Experience in multi-unit/parent-subsidiary organizational structure (preferred) * Effective written and verbal skills * Overall proficiency in computer skills (Excel, Outlook) * Experience in a SOX reporting environment (preferred) American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected factor. #LI-EP1 - LinkedIn
