Establish and maintain a Quality focus to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements regarding product storage, identification, control and distribution. Develop and maintain the mechanism for ongoing Management Review to validate the system, monitor & measure the operational processes, identify problem areas/opportunities and assure continual improvement.Duties & Responsibilities:* Oversees all aspects of the operation to ensure high quality, continuous distribution support of company sales orders.* Oversees and manages relationship with outsourced 3PL distribution operation in Memphis, TN. Is responsible for relationship management, KPI's and performance of the outsourced operation.* Serves as Warehousing/Distribution team member on cross functional project teams, including the team charged with the relocation efforts for the distribution operation.* Provide tactical direction and leadership to maximize productivity and accuracy in product receipt, material handling, inventory storage and customer order fulfillment.* Maintain cost efficient operations throughout the organization. Monitor and report financial performance. Establish staffing requirements, based on customer demand for services. Lead, recruit, interview, hire, train, develop and reward hourly personnel to achieve objectives.* Utilize available resources to fulfill customer order shipping requirements and facilitate achievement of monthly sales goals. Coordinate on an as needed basis all the Site support functions to maintain an appropriate level of facility maintenance, security, housekeeping, grounds keeping, equipment maintenance and safety - in accordance with established SOP's, cGMP's and governmental (FDA, OSHA) regulations.* Establish operating budgets in support of organizational goals and objectives.* Oversee a process to facilitate Corrective Actions and Preventative Actions in a proactive approach to Quality and operational excellence.* Partner with Quality Assurance to maximize the return from Internal Assessments and QA Audits to provide objective evidence of adherence to cGMPs, FDA regulations, OSHA and DOT guidelines and Company procedures.* Provide a focal point for strategic, long range planning regarding facilities, technology and systems. Direct activities necessary to support accomplishments of key initiatives.* Coordinate on an as needed basis with the Supply Chain group to maintain effective lines of communication and to ensure that all customer orders are picked and shipped to meet or exceed customer expectations.* Oversee the development and ongoing publication of meaningful Operational and Quality metrics and measurements, which can be utilized for monitoring overall organizational performance at the departmental, functional or individual level.* Approve training curriculum for all employees and assure that all Training records are maintained in accordance with established procedures. Participate in other assigned projects and programs as directed by Management, ensuring that issue remediation is deployed as necessary.* Collaboration with Finance and Corporate Transportation in verifying monthly carrier invoices and resolving billing issues in a timely manner.* Coordination of Sales, Marketing and Distribution stakeholders efforts in identifying opportunities to further optimize the balance between carrier services and transportation costs.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the basic knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.* Must have hands-on experience routing and processing shipments, including hazardous substances, using various freight carriers and manifest systems.* Must have good working knowledge of computerized inventory control systems and inventory control methods and procedures, including cycle counting and physical inventories.* Previous experience or familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), Warehouse set up and design including material flow through and location applications.* Must have demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.* Previous experience with globally outsourced biotech or pharmaceutical distribution activities.* Previous experience preparing for commercial launch of biotech products preferred* High proficiency with databases, ERP systems and spreadsheet applications* Cold chain biotech or pharmaceutical distribution experience required.* Domestic and International experience preferred.Education:* High school diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred.Experience:* Minimum of 7 years working in a highly regulated technical industry, including a minimum of 5 years in the Life Sciences industryPhysical DemandsThe physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.* Sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.* Stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.* Lifting/moving and carrying products weighing up to 40 pounds.* Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration and/or moderate noise levels.* Exposure to hazardous chemicals or other materials.* Safety Shoes with Impact and Compression Protection Must be worn.Agency and Third Party Recruiter Notice:Agencies that submit a resume to Hologic must have a current executed Hologic Agency Agreement executed by a member of the Human Resource Department.
