Hoag Hospital recognizes the immense importance of the sound medical staff practices needed to operate a high-quality healthcare enterprise. The Medical Staff Analyst possesses specialized, high-level expertise that is applied to meet the internally established quality metrics and to comply with external accreditation standards, state laws and Medicare Conditions of Participation. The Medical Staff Analyst coordinates internal and external activities of the Medical Staff including management of medical staff meetings, working independently with minimal oversight. They will also be responsible to assist Medical Staff Officers, departments and committees in the pursuit of their responsibilities as defined in the Medical Staff Bylaws, and Rules/Regulations. The Medical Staff Analyst manages the functions required to comply with external accreditation standards, state laws and Medicare Conditions of Participation and are expected to perform all meeting management and follow-up activities as assigned. This position assists the Supervisor, Medical Staff Services in developing reports for meetings, including the credentials report for presentation to the Credentials Committee, Medical Executive Committee and Board of Directors. In addition to the above, the Sr. Medical Staff Analyst is expected to apply the judgment and discretion necessary to assure sound, defensible practices, support the appropriate onboarding and retention of highquality members, prevent the risks associated with non-compliance to regulatory and accrediting standards and shall serve as a resource to provide feedback and guidance for the Medical Staff Analysts. It is expected that the employees holding these positions will demonstrate behaviors consistent with our core values and will comply with all required standards. Education, Training and Experience Required: * High School diploma, GED or California High Proficiency * Minimum three (3) years of experience as a medical staff services professional specific to acute care settings Skills or Other Qualifications Required: * Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills * Ability to adapt to changing schedules, deadlines and demands, and a heavy workload. * Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements and accreditation standards * Proficiency with medical terminology • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills * The ability to function independently with minimal direct supervision * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) * Computer literacy Preferred: * MD Staff experience License and Certifications Preferred: Certified Professional Credentialing Analyst (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Professional (CPMSM)
