Hexcel is currently seeking a Temporary Lab Technician I to join our R&T team for our Dublin, CA USA location. The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations: Resin mixing on laboratory scale and composite test panel fabrication Setting up and cleaning lab equipment as required Collecting data, making calculations as necessary, preparing reports of test data and results in accordance with specified procedures. Performing special assignments assisting other technicians or engineers on project work Maintaining departmental files, logs, and records of past experiments and/or tests for future references Conducting testing and analysis using proper methods and procedures to assure safe practice and valid results Maintaining a clean, safe working environment and ensuring lab equipment are in acceptable order Qualifications: High School diploma a must, six months to one year related experience and/or training; minimum of 2-4 years of college in related discipline preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as Safety Data Sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Working knowledge of algebra and MS Office, Excel specifically, also required. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, percentage, average) are required. Familiarity with density, concentration and unit conversion calculations preferred. Industrial lab experience highly desirable (preferably in composites/polymers/paints/coatings mixing environment). Experience with autoclaves or presses a plus. Able to work independently and in a team environment - communicates with co-workers efficiently in verbal and written format.
