Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and physician, the ED Tech II functions as an ED Tech I with additional duties, responsible for assisting the Emergency Department staff and physicians in providing patient care and assisting during emergency patient care procedures. As a unit-clerk/ monitor technician is responsible for interpreting and monitoring the patient's cardiac rhythm status, providing a variety of clerical duties relating to the updating and organization of information in the Emergency Department; and directing the flow of communication between other units and departments. Assists with the hiring process, preceptorship of new hires, provides input into ED Tech PA's, responsible for ordering and maintaining special order supplies , responsible for all equipment, holding Tech I accountable for assigned duties in the department. Licensure and Certification: * Current CA EMT/Paramedic certification * Current BLS provider card * Current CA Phlebotomy certification * MAB certification Education: * High School graduate, GED or equivalent. * Medical terminology course completion preferred * Basic Dysrhythmia recognition class Experience: * 12-Lead EKG experience * Previous experience in comparable position highly desired Knowledge and Skills: * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Organizational skills * Proficient reading, writing, grammar and math skills * EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition * Knowledge of medical terminology * Basic computer skills
