The Service Deli Counter employee is first in line to make a great impression on our customers and is responsible for ensuring a positive customer service experience. As an entry level Service Deli Counter employee, you will be responsible for assisting customers with fresh deli items from our gourmet salads case, prepared hot foods case, the slicing and packaging of carving cart proteins and preparing ordered items such as custom made sandwiches. The Service Deli Counter employee will be expected to use an electric slicer to slice fresh meats and cheeses ordered by our customers. You may also be asked to prepare and package items for sale in pre-packed areas including sandwiches, salads and side dishes.
Although not needed, experience within the food service or restaurant industry is preferred. The Service Deli Counter position is an entry level position where all necessary functions will be trained.
All entry level Service Deli positions start at part time. Pay rate will be dependent on experience.
Opportunities for growth include, but are not limited to, Assistant Service Deli Manager, Salad Bar and Hot Foods preparation.
Continuous hand manipulation including, grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation
Reaching above and at shoulder level frequently
Standing up to 6 hours per day
Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
Working near hazardous machinery (Slicer, mixer, knives)
Exposure to dust, gas, fumes and cleaning solvents
Exposure to noise (Saw in meat department)
Exposure to extremes in temperature (Deli coolers, freezer, ovens, steam table. hot water)
Working at heights (Stocking supplies)
