This sales territory includes California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Hawaii and Nevada
* Complete responsibility for new business development in the assigned geography.
* Services include Electrical Product Safety, EMC, Wireless, OTA, Environmental and Field Labels. The role is strictly a sales hunting position and has no existing business to maintain.
A New Business Specialist develops their territory by prospecting:
* CRM database - provided
* Proactive research
* Industry and trade events
* All other relevant sources
A successful NBS will maintain a pipeline of at least 30 viable opportunities by month 4 of their employment. The NBS is expected to set appointments with prospects and spend as much time as necessary on the road (probably 50 to 70%) to reach sales quotas.
All business-related use of a personal vehicle will be reimbursed at the current federal rate for mileage. For business trips that are drivable but where the destination is greater than 150 miles from your home office, use of a rental car is permitted.
You will be eligible for a 2% commission on all new business that is sold in the territory. The sales budget for the territory is expected to average $100,000 per month by the end of the 4th month and $175,000 per month by the end of the first full year of employment. The expectation for new customers is 10 per month by the 6th month.
Territory and quota adjustments will be reviewed on an annual basis, to coincide with the beginning of the calendar year, and may be adjusted according to business needs and results.
The first 3 months of employment with the company will be considered an introductory period. During this time performance will be monitored and feedback will be provided to assist in understanding and meeting performance expectations. A guaranteed monthly bonus will be paid at a rate of $2,000 per month for the first 3 months of employment. During these months, new customer bonuses and any special incentives (spiffs), if offered, may be earned as well, however, the bonus paid will only be the higher of the two amounts (guarantee versus commission and bonuses earned).
