(Applicants who are currently in other Air/Army branches and NOT currently a member of the California National Guard (CNG) must become a member of a compatible unit of assignment within the Army CNG commensurate with the military grade listed in this announcement prior to federal assignment).Military Grades: E-1 through E-6Recruitment/RelocationRecruitment/Relocation Incentive MAY BE authorized, subject to funding and approval.PCSRelocation Costs MAY BE authorized subject to provisions of the Joint Travel Regulation, funding, and an agency determination that a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move is in the Government's best interest.Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance.Must wear appropriate military uniform including required grooming standards.Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives.Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.Security Clearance: at a minimum a National Agency Check is required.QualificationsGeneral Experience: Experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventative maintenance tasks, and is able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work.SURFACE MAINTENANCE REPAIRER, WG-5801-8: Must have at least 12 months experience using common hand and power tools and a small variety of test and measurement devices to make mechanical repairs; Experience removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing a variety of parts, components, and accessories; Experience which demonstrates a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to vehicles; and skill to replace, fit, install, and make adjustments; Experience demonstrating an understanding of the makeup and operation of the various individual systems maintained and their interrelationships; Experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics.Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies:* Ability To Do The Work Of The position Without More Than Normal Supervision* Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment* Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.* Trouble ShootingEducationN/A
