What you'll be doing: * Collaborate with the art and engineering teams to build- out and maintain a comprehensive motion system for characters, vehicles, and environment props in our Unreal- based simulation * Create high- quality cinematic and gameplay animation content and establish production standards * Design rigs and setups, skin a variety of assets, and maintain motion and deformation systems * Develop rigging and animation pipeline tools to refine production processes, including: batching, automation, integration of keyframe, mocap, procedural, and run-time dynamic animation, and streamlining asset setup and integration process in Unreal * Provide creative and technical feedback to external teams to deliver efficient, quality, real- time ready rigs and animation content What you must have: * 5+ years experience as a Character TA in 3D game development and have shipped at least one AAA game * Excellent knowledge of real-time animation systems and game engine tech limitations, with extensive experience implementing character skeleton animation in Unreal Engine 4 * Expert in setting up and maintaining character pipelines including: animation state machines, efficient re-use of animation assets (bone groups, facial rigs), re-targeting, and designing character systems to support a wide variety of accessories and clothing * Experience setting up animation for environmental elements (trees, flags, cloth etc..) * Experience rigging characters and creatures in Maya- both biped and quadruped * Proficiency in Python and Mel, with the ability to write tools to streamline the rigging and animation processes * Wide range of animation knowledge- from key frame animation to motion capture systems * A portfolio consisting of technical animation work that you've developed yourself from concept to finish - ideally including rigs, animation tools, scripts, and/or any pipeline work that you can share.
