The Instructional Assistant assists the teacher in improving the quality of educational opportunities, supervision of students, and instructional tasks which, in the judgment of the teacher, may be performed by a non-credentialed employee. The work need not be performed in the presence of the teacher, but the teacher retains responsibility for instruction and supervision. Instructional Assistants work part-time, Monday through Friday, 20-28 hours per week, depending on the assignment. Most assignments are commonly scheduled from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm but can vary depending on the campus and grade level assignment. This position is an hourly, part-time employee, and no additional health and welfare benefits are provided. Candidates should have experience working with students in a classroom setting. Minimum qualifications for application: * High School diploma with either 48 college units, AA degree, or Paraprofessional exam certificate. * Montessori training and experience desired but not required. Montessori certification preferred.
