Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Global PR and Communications, Benefit Cosmetics is looking for a globally savvy, strategic, motivated and energetic Senior Manager to help conceptualize, lead and execute global events for press, influencers & consumers. Under the global creative direction for key launches & campaigns, he/she will be responsible for creating event toolkits for local execution. This position requires outstanding communication & written skills with excellent organizational skills. The candidate must be a creative, strategic, results driven, multi-tasker with an eye for detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Global Events

  • Drive & execute Global Events (pop-ups, experiential events, press & influencer events) with the PR Director’s support and liaise with external event agency. Scope of work will include: Define the MarCom event strategy & goals as well as communication timeline for this global launch Creative planning i.e. define event concept, activities and selection of venues to bring the concept/campaign/product to life.Develop an overall critical path milestone plan and manage timeline to ensure actions are completed & deliverables are metOversee RFP and vendor selection processSet event budget and negotiate & track all costs associated with the event to stay on budget. Market coordination i.e. securing attendance and providing them with guidelines for visas, travel, budget responsibilityWork with creative team to develop asset needs and produce deliverables (agendas, branding & décor)Work with Senior PR Manager on Spokesforce needs & talking points. Define desired presentation format.Manage on-site event execution to provide event direction and real-time problem solvingProvide post event follow up: analytics to assess the success of the global launch and provide recommendations based on the findings for the local activations
  • Local Event Guidance & Support

  • With the support of the Senior PR Manager, act as global liaison between Benefit HQ & local PR/event specialists to: Build strong event guidance and support to achieve launch & growth goalsContinuously evolve event initiatives and assets to maximize brand awareness & bring Benefit to life in fresh and innovative ways for press & influencer-facing events and for consumer eventsProvide local MarCom teams with strategic counsel on event activations Under global creative direction, develop event guidelines & turnkey toolkits for markets to execute locally (4-6/year)Provide on-site support for large, local events when needed
  • Internal Events

  • PLANNING under the supervision of the PR Director and in partnership with Internal Comms Plan, coordinate and execute annual global conference Plan, coordinate and execute international guest visits (press, influencers, etc.) Develop and manage program timelines to ensure that all deadlines are metDevelop meeting theme and agenda to ensure that goals of key stakeholders (CEO, and Steering Committee) are achieved Collaborate with the creative department to design and produce all meeting collateral, ensuring a cohesive look and feel with timely deliveryPlan all program logistics including but not limited to: venue/entertainment/vendor bidding and selection, attendee management and communication, site inspections, transportation, food & beverage and AVPlan activities and entertainment to elevate the guest experience and ensure programs maintain a balance of fun entertainment and business-relevant content
  • EXECUTION Manage all event logistics (banquet, rooming, AV, transportation, vendors, etc.), partnering with support teams to define day-of coordination Post conference reporting: collect, digest and share event feedback to implement key learnings for future programs
  • BUDGET in tandem with the PR Director Negotiate and work with venues and vendors to ensure program needs are met and costs are controlled Track, process and reconcile all program costs to maintain budget clarity and stay within each event budget
  • Qualifications:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

  • Minimum 8-10 years of event planning required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized multi-tasker with a great attention to detail in deadline-driven environment
  • Sharp problem solver with methodical follow-through
  • Articulate thinker with a sense of humor and an ability to provide creative direction, react quickly, and interact productively
  • Experience in beauty and/or fashion preferred
  • Understanding of social media and social media metrics as an event KPI a plus
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams successfully, with a proven track record of production & event management experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Apple- based IOS
  • Understanding of Illustrator or Photoshop
