Beautycounter is looking for a dynamic Lab Technician who will have a positive impact on the Social Mission/Safety team at its Santa Monica, Ca location. As the Lab Technician, you will prepare and store analytical samples and standards for testing. You must be able to utilize good laboratory technique. This includes wearing appropriate PPE; strictly following all safety procedures; maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary work area; and keeping an accurate notebook and logbook. You must ensure that any laboratory equipment is clean, maintained, and in good working order. You will also track and review incoming test reports, and work with digital information management software. Good communication skills are required, both verbal and written, as you will be working on independent and team-based projects. In this role you will: * Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry required * 1-3 years experience with analytical chemistry; HPLC or GC-MS experience preferred * Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint * Must be able to work independently with keen attention to detail * Must be accountable, work well under pressure, and have strong time management and prioritization skills * Must be comfortable challenging the status quo and looking for ways to improve processes * Must be able to work with multiple stakeholders and communicate complex information in a clear, confident manner * Must be open-minded, respectful, and driven * Unwavering commitment to our social mission Percentage Breakdown of Tasks: * Prepare and store analytical samples and standards for testing (analyze samples if needed) 45% = 18hrs/week * Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary work area including cleaning equipment 20% = 8hrs/week * Keep an accurate notebook and logbook 10% = 4hrs/week * Track and review incoming test reports supporting skin/body and color PD teams (includes working with digital information management software, communicating to stake holders, relaying any information pertaining to testing and results) 25% = 10hrs/week At Beautycounter we are committed to creating a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
