Apollo Insurance Solutions Groupseeks an Investment Accounting Operations Manager for its El Segundo, California-based headquarters. This is a new position that offers a unique opportunity to shape a new function and institute best practices at a company experiencing rapid growth and positive change. The ideal candidate is a disciplined, self-starter who can organize and resource an ongoing accounting process in order to consistently provide exceptional service to insurance investment accounting client(s) maintaining standards and controls within a SOC1, NAIC and SEC regulated environment.
Ensure the effective timely and efficient operation of the investment accounting platforms in order to ensure agreed deliverables are provided to insurance investment accounting client(s) according to the standards identified in an agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA).
Interface with internal partners including but not limited to Investment Operations, Data Management and IT in order to support the smooth operation of investment accounting processes in support of Athene’s SLA with its client(s) for such services.
Enhance and maintain a runbook of daily and monthly activity and where necessary provide leadership and direction to ensure clear task assignment, deliverable responsibility, control execution and coordination with dependent processes.
Monitor process execution and instigate continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce duplication and provide more timely and accurate services to insurance investment accounting client(s).

Work effectively with Internal Controls to ensure effective operation of the SOC1 controls, enhance and update controls in partnership with AAM Internal Controls.
Work effectively with the Director of Investment Accounting and provide leadership in supporting initiatives on a firm wide or departmental basis.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
CPA, is preferred
5-10 years of relevant work experience
Experience working in SOC1, NAIC, and SEC regulated environments
Good communication, organizational, and strong interpersonal skills; ability to work across all functions/levels as part of a team
Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment; ability to adapt to changing paradigms is a must
Strong analytical and computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Understanding of fixed income principles
