The ideal intern will obtain experience in the financial healthcare industry and in conducting audit related activity in accordance with Government Auditing Standards (GAS). Under guided supervision, the intern will gain experience in Medicare Part A Audit and Reimbursement as part of our Medicare Administrative Contract (MAC) with the Federal Government (The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) branch of the Department of Health and Human Services).  The intern will receive training, participate in reimbursement related workload, be assigned a mentor, and be assigned special projects based on input from the Audit Intern and Management.  Flexible work hours are allowed per class load. If the manager and the intern deem the internship to be a good fit for both parties, the internship will last longer than one semester with the opportunity for the intern to work additional hours during school breaks. The intern may have the opportunity to become a full-time employee after graduation.     Responsibilities - Analyze data for accuracy, reasonableness and compliance - Gain experience with Medicare part A Laws, regulations and CMS procedures - Perform additional assignments/projects as requested
