• Partners with Business Unit Operations to facilitate OPEX training activities across the BUs.* Effective project management of supply and/or production transition as well as supporting new product introductions. Manage cross functional team of Engineering, Operations, Logistics to ensure that supplies and/or production are moved without disruption.* Member of negotiation team for major contracts and for all supplies, services, etc. Helps develop negotiating strategies, focus areas.* Work closely with the purchasing teams and supplier to move toward consignment stock and vendor performance ratings.* Manage supplier performance to meet all quality and delivery requirements, in cooperation with operating departments and quality control departments.Education & Experience:* Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 7-10 years of management-level experience in Supply Chain, Operational Excellence and VA/VE* Experience in an MRP/ERP system environment (SAP, Oracle)* Must have experience working with the supply base of mechanical components, preferably in the aerospace industry* Global supply chain experience, to include low cost region supply base and plant locations, strongly preferred* Substantial experience in operational excellence and lean manufacturing to include continuous improvement projects and processes* Logistics/supply chain management experience in large corporations with diverse operational units in multiple locations* Familiarity with assigned vendor inventory and contract management systems; experience implementing such systems is a strong plus.* A track record of maximizing spends across supply and/or logistics functions with mechanical components and assemblies* Knowledge of and experience in Lean, Six Sigma, operations, cost analysis and inventory management* Strong leadership skills, including the ability to establish credibility quickly and influence without direct report authority* Strategic, self-starter with the confidence and desire to grow professionally* Detail-oriented individual with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization (verbal, written, presentation)* Data-driven and flexible individual with demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects simultaneously* Prior experience with due diligence and integration a plus* Technical aptitude to read blueprints and schematics and provide solution-based approach with suppliers* Individual may be based from any Aerospace and Defense plant location (Texas, New York, Massachusetts, California, Florida, Kansas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania).AMETEK, Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices with annual sales of approximately $5B. This individual is responsible for driving global sourcing strategies within the aerospace and defense industry. This individual will partner with multiple business units to implement supply chain and operational excellence models that optimize and enhance operating results across the division. S/he will be responsible for developing and evaluating initiatives that impact VA/VE, OpEx, cost reduction, equipment, and mechanical components utilized throughout our facilities. This role collaborates with multiple business units to ensure project objectives are strategic, fit the AMETEK model, and are executed on budget and on time. This highly visible individual will provide ongoing, regular communication with leadership teams on supply chain and operational excellence initiatives.This This position reports directly to the Vice President, Supply Chain and Continuous Improvement for the Aerospace and Defense Division.Key Responsibilities/Accountability:* Implement innovative solutions to address division goals. Utilize team building and collaboration skills to manage the activities of people and systems involved in procurement, strategic sourcing and supply chain activities.* Drives annual material and operational cost savings to be reviewed as a percent of savings to total sales.* Active member of acquisition and integration team, performing due diligence work with senior leadership.* Develop and implement key initiatives to achieve material cost savings: LCR (low cost regions), SPI (strategic procurement initiatives), VAVE (value analysis/value engineering)* Lead regular strategy deployment and KPI reviews for management ensuring attainment of results and a sense of urgency with respect to the strategic implementation priorities.* Standardize best practices across the Aerospace and Defense Division, deploying and ensuring compliance with standardized practices* Act as a mentor, partner and coach to multiple locations in a global, highly decentralized environment while balancing the strategic priorities with the tactical day-to-day priorities.* Partner with Business Unit Operations to reduce aggregate lead time to build product and optimize margins. Reduce working capital through decreased lead time, lot size and volume of inventory. Reduce DPO (days payment outstanding) through negotiation of terms with suppliers.* Forecast procurement costs on an annual, quarterly, and monthly basis. Actively and effectively provide input costs for the annual budget process.* Develop, implement, and leverage a repeatable, disciplined systemto implement best practice agreements organization-wide, focusing on total organization cost effectiveness, enhanced service levels, improved coordination, and risk management.
